Privacy Policy & Data Protection
AulaLive Platform — Safeguarding your privacy is our highest priority, in full compliance with Algerian Law No. 18-07.
Welcome to the AulaLive platform (accessible at: https://aulalive.net). The protection of personal data and the digital privacy of our users are among our highest priorities. This policy has been prepared to inform you transparently and in detail about how we collect, process, and store your data when using our platform, in accordance with the fundamental principles of national and international legislation, particularly Algerian Law No. 18-07 relating to the protection of physical persons in the treatment of personal data.
1. General Provisions & Data Concept
Under applicable laws, personal data is defined as any information that allows the direct or indirect identification of a physical person. At AulaLive, we strictly adhere to the principle of "Data Minimization". Our software infrastructure is designed to refrain from collecting any data beyond the operational requirements of the platform.
2. Collected Data & User Categories
Data handling policies differ depending on the nature of your platform usage and account type:
A) Registered Users (Hosts / Teachers):
When creating a personal account to host rooms and meetings, we collect only the following data: First and Last Name (to identify the account owner and personalize the user interface), and Email Address (for authentication, account verification, and password recovery).
B) Invited Users & Visitors:
For individuals joining live rooms or meetings by entering a Meeting Code or clicking a direct link, the platform does not request, collect, or store any personal data. They can enter and participate without creating an account.
3. Data Collection Methods & Authentication
Data of registered users is collected through two methods only:
Direct Registration:
When the user manually fills out the registration form fields of their own free will.
Third-Party Login (Google OAuth):
When using the "Continue with Google" feature, you authorize Google to share your name and verified email address with us. This received data is handled with the same strictness applied to manually written data. No other permissions or information are retrieved from your Google account.
4. Purposes of Data Processing
The processing of data collected by AulaLive is strictly limited to the following technical and operational purposes:
- Enabling the creation and customization of live streaming rooms and virtual meetings.
- Securing account access and preventing cyberattacks or unauthorized use.
- Communicating with hosts to send necessary technical alerts related to their accounts or service updates.
- Managing account privileges.
5. Hosting & Cross-Border Data Transfer
Infrastructure: The mentioned personal data (name and email) is digitally stored and processed in encrypted form on servers owned by Hetzner, located in advanced data centers within the European Union. These centers adhere to the highest cybersecurity standards and international data protection regulations (such as GDPR). By agreeing to this privacy policy and creating your account, you declare your knowledge and express consent to the hosting of this limited data in this external infrastructure, dedicated exclusively to securing the platform's performance and technical stability.
6. Data Retention Duration
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active on the AulaLive platform. If a user decides to stop using the platform, they can request account deletion. Upon doing so, the name and email address are completely and immediately destroyed from active databases and backups within the technical timeframe standard to the system.
7. Data Security & Password Encryption
We apply strict technical and administrative measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:
Password & OAuth Encryption:
For users who register manually, the password is encrypted immediately upon reaching the server using high-security, one-way hashing algorithms (such as bcrypt). Passwords are stored fully hashed; no one—including AulaLive developers and administrators—can view them in plain text. For users registering via Google OAuth, the platform does not request or store any password in its databases, relying entirely on secure, temporary authentication identifiers issued by Google.
Transit Encryption and Separation:
Encrypting all data exchanged between the browser and the server using advanced security protocols (HTTPS / SSL). Additionally, live streaming data is separated from the identity database to ensure the highest levels of privacy during virtual sessions.
8. Live Stream Privacy & No Server-Side Recordings (Local Recording)
No Server Storage: The AulaLive platform relies on a decentralized, privacy-first infrastructure. No video, audio, or live chat sessions are recorded, saved, or stored on our hosting servers under any circumstances. Fully Local Recording (Client-Side): If the host (sender) activates the recording feature, the processing and recording take place entirely locally on the user's device (i.e., inside their browser). The recorded file is downloaded directly to the user's personal device, without any part of it passing through or being saved in our databases, ensuring total confidentiality of the broadcast content.
9. Cookies Policy
AulaLive uses essential technical cookies only (Essential Cookies): These cookies are used to save your login session so you do not have to log in every time you move between pages of the website. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track your browsing outside of the website.
10. User Rights & Compliance with Law 18-07
Algerian Law No. 18-07 guarantees you a set of fundamental rights that you can exercise at any time:
- Right to Information: Which is what this policy currently does by informing you of all processing details.
- Right of Access: You can request a copy of the data we hold about you (name and email).
- Right to Rectification and Update: You can modify your name or email address directly through your account settings on the platform.
- Right to Object and Erase: You can object to the processing of your data or request the permanent deletion of your account from the platform by writing to us.
11. Amendments to the Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to keep pace with the platform's technical developments or changes in legislation. When any material amendment is made, we will notify users via email or through a clear notice on the platform homepage before the amendments take effect.
